Styrkas flagship optic series, the 8x42 S9Series ED Binoculars are engineered with complementary technologies to produce and optic that is built to perform well in lowlight conditions and in the harshest environments. First is the use of extra lowdispersion (ED) glass in the lens elements to correct chromatic and spherical aberrations. Next are highdensity glass SK15 roof prisms that have a high refractive index that limits internal light diffraction to boost contrast and brightness. The prisms are also phasecorrected and dielectric coated, which further limit internal light loss and diffraction, improving image contrast. The optical path is fully multicoated with their proprietary SXLMAX antireflection coatings which increase light transmission, image contrast and sharpness, and provide true color rendition. This all translates to an immersive observational experience showing bright and clear highcontrast images with accurate color across the entire wide field of view especially at low light such as dawn and dusk, and heavily overcast skies.
